We are excited to share that two PhD students from the DDPSE Lab have received prestigious graduate fellowship awards recognizing their research accomplishments.
2025
Dr. Suryateja Ravutla has successfully defended his PhD on “Developing Hybrid Modeling and Optimization Techniques for Process Systems”. Congratulations Surya!!! He will be moving on to a new position as a Senior Data Scientist at Aspen Tech (Bedford, MA), leveraging ML and advanced optimization techniques to develop AI-driven solutions for engineering systems.
Dr. Elisavet Anglou has successfully defended her PhD on “Modeling plastics recycling processes: from unit operations to supply chain optimization”. Congratulations Elisavet!!!
2024
Research Corporation for Science Advancement, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and ClimateWorks Foundation have made awards to seven cross-disciplinary teams of early career scientists in the fourth and final year of Scialog: Negative Emissions Science, an initiative aiming to advance the underlying science needed to make technologies to capture and utilize greenhouse gases globally scalable. Dr. Fani Boukouvala is one of the 19 researchers from a variety of institutions in the United States and Canada to receive the award. See more information here:

Since we recently updated our website, we have consolidated some important past news. Over the years, the most important outcome of our lab is our PhD graduates. We are so proud of them and can’t wait to see what they’re going to accomplish in the future!
